Gloria and Family,
Before he was a permanent fixture on 60-E, aka the War Wagon, Dennis was in Area One Task Force. I met Dennis in June 1972 when I arrived in the unit. What a stud! He epitomized what it meant to be a Task Force ranger. A solid guy in every respect. I learned so much from him in my time as a relief man on the War Wagon. Not just about weapons and tactics, but about life and how to treat people. I revered those weeks we spent at Great Lakes, just because of the interactions we would have with other TF/SOG personnel from different areas. RIP, my friend. You truly made a difference. Here’s hoping we’ll meet again whenever the Good Lord calls me home.
Very hard to put into words what Dennis meant to me. He was my partner for 14 yrs. But more than that he’s was my big brother, mentor, best friend and someone who I always knew would cover my back no matter what.Dennis made being a police officer an easy job because he made 8 hrs fly by every day.Dennis you will be missed and never forgotten Thank you for everything. Denny, one of my best friends growing up with in the old neighborhood on 69th Street.
We did a lot of things together, had fun & were very close. Myself, as well as my family will really miss you.
It’s hard to realize that you’re no longer here. I was never good with words but I’ll see you when I see you.
Dennis,
You are more than my friend, you are truly my Brother. I will miss our tinkering in your garage or mine, our sitting in lawn chairs at your place or mine watching the world go by, our motorcycle rides, your great BBQs, your dog treat filled pockets, our trips to Lowes to talk to strangers (no one is a stranger to you), and so much more! I will miss YOU, but my memories of you will forever warm my heart and soul. Ride on Brother. I love you. Colin
Well said my brother Colin! Doug
With our deepest sympathy,
Jim & Charlene

My prayers to the family. E Fred said it best! As a young policeman Dennis would always be there for advice while working with him, or in training. I learned a lot. Thanks brother!
Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains. Dennis will be remembered at the next Police Mass.
In the meantime, may family and friends know the healing touch of our all-loving, all-merciful God!
Dennis, you were one of the most dedicated and loyal officers i have ever had the pleasure working with – you were always looking to help others learn, stay safe and advance while asking nothing for yourself in return. There wasn’t a soul in the Task Force, Special Operations, Gang Crimes, and back to Special Operations that didn’t look up to you and look towards you for advice and friendship. You were certainly one of a kind and they sure don’t make ’em like you anymore. Gloria, so sorry for your loss, and take comfort knowing he is in a much better place.
God Speed my friend E Fred
