Dearest Gloria, Deanna and Family,
Please know that Mary(Mom), Jerry, Aletha, Janet and myself (Jim) were present with you all in Spirit and in Prayer during Dennis' Celebration of Life. What an extraordinary man he was and tremendous legacy he leaves behind. His servitude to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was exemplified through his oath to serve and protect his community--but it even transcended that. By virtue of the many testimonies that are documented in this Sacred space, his gifts went above and beyond the citizens of Chicago, to include mentorship--the sharing of the wealth of his knowledge and experience with his fellow police officers, and in his deep caring for each and every one of them--is truly astounding and commendable. Gloria, we know it hurts a lot not to have Dennis here with us right now, and we all share in your grief. That said, we pray that you, Deanna and the family, will take courage and comfort in knowing, that through Jesus' selfless sacrifice of His Love and His Life, we WILL see our beloved Dennis again. We also pray that our Lord will comfort you with His Grace and Peace, and strengthen you by His Holy Spirit, as He draws each and every one of you ever closer to Him, in a strong and abiding Faith. We love you Gloria, Deanna, and all of your family. In Christ's Love, The Mayes Family
