William Calvin Even, born December 15, 1946, passed away peacefully December 23, 2023. Bill is survived by his sister, Arlene Walding, brother James (Mary Kay) Even, sister-in-law, Patricia Even and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Reunited in heaven with parents Bernhard and Margaret; brothers Ronald and Melvin, and niece Jennifer Hund. After graduating from Pueblo Central in 1965, Bill went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1965-1969 in Vietnam. As a highly decorated soldier, receiving numerous meritorious service awards, he was selected for the Presidential Executive Protection Service Detail. Upon returning to Pueblo he was employed with Colorado Fuel & Iron in Quality Control Department until his retirement. Bill loved Country music and in his younger days he could be found at The Silver Saddle listening to music. He was a true diehard Bronco fan…win or lose. Bill was a kind soft-spoken man of few words, but always a passionate presence. Graveside service 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery. Reception 12:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, 2024 in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall Donations may be made in Bill’s name to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, 1920 Valley Drive, Pueblo, CO, 81008.
