Celebration of Life:
William “Bill” Osnowitz, 82, passed away in his home in Pueblo on November 22, 2023. Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Osnowitz; children, Carrie (Ron) Lind, Tina (Ken) Landers, Brad (Roberta) Coxen, Todd (Jodi) Coxen. He is survived by grandchildren, Meagan & Taylor Lind, Morganne (Dan) Martinez, Payton Landers, Chase & Miranda Coxen. Bill is also survived by his brother, Derald Osnowitz.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, David & Avis Osnowitz; his sons, Michael and Steven Osnowitz; and his brother, James Osnowitz.
Bill’s family moved to Pueblo from Sioux City, Iowa when he was four years old and Bill soon became a true Puebloan.
Bill had a distinguished 43 year career as a Realtor. Bill and his father, David, started GO Realty and later he and the love of his life, Carolyn, moved to Jones Healy. Bill retired from Remax. During his career as a Realtor he received numerous honors from the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Colorado Association of Realtors (CAR), and Pueblo Association of Realtors (PAR). Among these awards were the PAR Realtor of the Year Award and the PAR and CAR Distinguished Services Awards. Bill was one of the very few Realtors from Colorado initiated into the NAR RPAC Hall of Fame. Bill was a tireless contributor to assist in providing housing opportunities to those in need and a gifted fundraiser to assist many who would otherwise not have been able to purchase their home.
Bill was active in a variety of community organizations which included PEDCO, Range Riders and Pueblo Housing Authority.
Although Bill had a distinguished career and received many awards the greatest award was that of being a husband to his best friend, father and grandfather. Bill adored his family and his eyes would light up any time one would stop in to visit. He made sure each left with a smile, a laugh or some wise parting words of wisdom or golf tip.
Anyone who knew Bill well knew he was an avid and passionate golfer. Pueblo is a better place for Bill having been here. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Celebration of life, 11 a.m. on December 11, 2023, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel.
Remembrances in Bill’s memory may be made through the CSU-P Foundation to the James Osnowitz Scholarship, CASA of Pueblo or Pueblo Diversified Industries (PDI). Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com
Carolyn….my best to you and a hug.
Bill was my landlord in the late 80’s before I purchased my first home…I always refer to Bill as the very best landlord, he responded quickly to any problem that might arise. He was encouraging about buying my first property, as a young adult that meant a lot to me. My sincere condolences to the family.
Sincerely, Rita
