It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Dr. Stephen Wanyoike Muchina, who departed this life on December 23, 2024, in Pueblo County, Colorado, USA at the St Mary-Corwin Hospital
Dr. Stephen Muchina, formerly of Karatina University, Kenya, was an accomplished academic, a dedicated family man, and a cherished member of his community. His intellect, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He was the beloved son of Josphat Kariuki and Jacinta Kariuki of Nakuru, Kenya. Dr. Muchina is survived by his devoted wife, Bernadette Waceke, and his treasured daughters, Benita and Alma, who were the light of his life. He was a loving brother to Muthoni, Mungai, and Esther, and a dear son-in-law to the late Ngugi Njoroge and Wairimu Ngugi. Stephen was also a cherished brother-in-law to Njoroge, Gitau, and Wanjiru.
Family and friends are gathering daily at the family home to offer prayers and support as they honor Stephen’s life and legacy.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Dr Stephen at a funeral Mass that will be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, 1708 Horseshoe Drive, Pueblo, CO 81001 on Friday January 10, 2025, starting at 9:00am. Immediately after the service, Dr Stephen will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery, 1706 Roselawn Rd. Pueblo CO 81006.
Doc…will forever be remembered for his wisdom, humility,
and the profound love he had for his family and community.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
