Sally Ann Boucher
October 25, 1933 – September 16, 2025

It is with deep love that we share the passing of Sally Ann Boucher who left this world on September 16, 2025, just one month shy of turning 92. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her children.

Born on October 25, 1933, Sally grew up in Colorado Springs and attended Colorado Springs (now called Palmer) High School, where she met the love of her life, Wes, in the 10th grade. She went on to follow him to Colorado College, working summers at the Broadmoor Hotel to help support her studies. Though her father could only afford to send her for one year, the generosity of Julie Spencer made it possible for Sally to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Education.

The day after her graduation in 1955, she and Wes were married in Shove Chapel, beginning a partnership that would span decades. Sally taught for two years while Wes completed medical school in Denver, and when he joined the Navy, their family adventure began. They first moved to San Diego where Jon, Michelle and Paul were born, and later were stationed on Guam.

After Guam, the family moved to Oakland, California, where the twins, Brett and Blake, were born, completing their family of seven. When Wes’ Navy service ended, they returned to Colorado Springs, where he joined a medical practice and together they built their dream home. After just a year, they embraced a new opportunity in Pueblo, where they settled and built a life rooted in community, friendship and family.

In Pueblo, Sally thrived. She served as president of Newcomers, was active in the PTA, and enjoyed country club bowling league, golf, and many happy hours with friends. Most of all, she loved bridge – whether with her husband or her circle of friends, it was one of her greatest joys. She continued to play three times a week until the very end.

Sally was a woman of strength, patience and grace. She created a warm and loving home where she raised her five children – giving them a wonderful childhood filled with freedom, laughter and cherished traditions. She was a dependable and brave soul, a talented seamstress with a flair for fashion and an excellent cook whose meals would bring family and friends together. She lovingly cross-stitched Christmas stockings for the entire family, leaving behind a treasured legacy of her handiwork.

Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wesley W. Boucher, with whom she is now reunited after 14 years apart.

She is survived by her five children Jon (Lou) Boucher, Michelle (Boucher) Gjerde, Paul (Kathy) Boucher, Blake Boucher and Brett (Jennifer Gallegos) Boucher. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as her sister Sue (Dan) Wulf. Each of them carries forward the love, traditions and values she instilled.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the hospice nurses whose care and compassion brought Sally and her loved ones comfort during her final days. Thank you Cyndra, Grace, Sofia, Brett and Michelle.

A private celebration of life will be held and the family plans to spread both Sally and Wes’ ashes together in Gunnison, a place they both dearly loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to CSU Pueblo Foundation in her name.

Sally’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her and her family takes comfort knowing she is at peace and together again with the love of her life.
