Rebecca Sue Madrid, 65, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on September 5, 2016. She is survived by her children, Brandon, Kristina, Alicia (Phil) and Neva (Eric); grandchildren, Isiah, Xavier, Nasya, Angel (Crystal) and Stevie; great grandson, Joaquin; brothers, John (Nanette) and Rudy Soto; father of her children, Dario; best friend, Elaine; her dog, Buster; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Pete Sr. and Esther Soto; and brother Pete Soto, Jr. Born in Pueblo she loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and gambling any chance she had. At her request, there will be no viewing. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service, 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Ahhhh Becky I’ve been thinking of you so much lately. You have been constantly on my mind. It’s been years since I’ve seen you but you have always been my friend. I’m so sorry to see you go.
I’ve always been grateful for my relationship with my aunty Becky, she had a way of keeping it real, keeping me humble and loving me and my family unconditionally. She made her many nieces and nephews feel special, as if they were her favorite. I am also eternally grateful that my parents chose her to be my nina, they knew she would love and encourage me throughout my life and my decisions. I will cherish my alone times with her most because she made me laugh about just everyday stuff, always reminding me how lucky I am to be married to her handsome nephew, and she told me she was proud of me all the time. She was not perfect but who is? I don’t think she ever even wanted to be perfect, she was the best she could be and I will always love her for that sassy attitude. “Jenny Lee”
