Norma Summer, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 5, 2023, just a few days shy of her 85th birthday. The coroner deemed that her death was most likely instantaneous and she did not suffer. Norma was born on Nov. 27, 1938, in Lycan, Colo. She spent her childhood on a wheat farm south of Holly, Colo. with her parents Jewel and Charlie Fletcher, and her four brothers, Charles, Don, Jim, and Bob.
After graduating high school Norma married Eugene Summer and the couple eventually moved to Pueblo, Colo. Norma had two daughters and then attended the University of Southern Colorado earning a Bachelor’s Degree. Norma primarily worked at the Government Bookstore and Pueblo Army Depot.
After retirement, Norma enjoyed traveling, solving the daily crossword puzzle, and spending time with her pet companions. She was a member of the Eagles #145, YMCA Silver Sneakers, REAC, and Newcomers.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Patty (Michael) Killeen and Sandy (Matt Crapo) Summer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Summer.
