Michael “Mick”, “Mickey” R. Luxner, 77, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born in Superior, CO to Helen (Domenico) Luxner and Charles Luxner. Mick was the third of four children and is survived by his brother, Robert Luxner and many nephews and nieces.
Mick proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in 3/3/3, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Lima Company from 1966 – 1968 during the Vietnam War. His platoon honored Colonel John W. Ripley and all the men who served under him known as “Ripley’s Raiders” with a monument at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. His time as a Marine remained a source of pride throughout his life.
In August 1969, Mick married Betty (Codron) Luxner in Louisville, CO. Together they shared 56 wonderful years, raising two children, he is survived by his wife, children and five grandchildren.
Mick cherished time outdoors – camping, fishing, working on his land, and cheering on his beloved CU Buffs.

Uncle Mickey-I will forever remember all the time we spent together when I was young. To this day, thinking about your visits fishing, hunting, basketball and playing chess. Great memories with a great man. May you rest in peace, give my Dad a hug. Love you always.
It was an absolute privilege to be your one and only granddaughter and you never let me forget how special it was to you too. I will forever remember the times we went gold digging in the creek in Colorado when I came to visit you and Gram. Our runs to Sonic, sitting at the drive up window and getting so excited to eat it because it was always such a special treat and tradition! And lastly, I am unbelievably lucky enough to have gone and seen you a few weeks ago, hug you, I got to give you a big kiss on the cheek and told you how much I love you and hear you say it back one last time. I love you Papa and I know someday we will meet again. Thank you for everything you did for our family and our country. You will never be forgotten.

Dear Uncle Mick , I will forever remember what you did for my kids when Steve passed. You would stop by and talk and read to them. Comfort them.
