Mary 'Grace' Sykes, 81, passed away August 27, 2004. Survived by her two children, Valerie (Darrell) Webb; son, Christopher (Gloria) Sykes, all of Pueblo; grandchildren, Derek and Zack Webb, Kristen and Cassie Sykes; sisters, Marian Hunter of Stuart, Fla. and Bertha Shannon of Rockville, Md. Predeceased by husband, Robert Sykes, on Jan. 1, 2004. Born July 25, 1923, in Valley Lee, Md. Mary was a Federal Government employee, retiring from the U.S. Government Printing Office at the Pueblo Memorial Airport. Mary loved sports of all kinds - favoring the Broncos, Rockies and the Washington Redskins, Above all, she enjoyed time with family, particularly her grandchildren. Her kindness, generosity and constant good spirit lasted to the end and will be deeply missed. Cremation, Montgomery & Steward Crematorium. Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, at the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the Reverend Father Thomas Adrians officiating. Im Derek, One of the four grandchildren of Bob and Grace Sykes. I didnt sign anything the first time around and I came back to the site to check things out. There was countless memories of my grandparents. There has not been one day that I havent thought of them. They are sadly missed by all whose hearts were touched by them. Thank you all for your condolences and prayers as you guys are in my prayers. We love you grandpa & grandma
Mary Grace, known to the family as Grace, is my aunt…my mother’s sister. We will miss her so very much. She was a sweet and gentle lady with a strong will, fighting chronic illness yet never complaining. She loved all of her family and especially enjoyed the grandchildren. I will miss her stories about the sisters when growing up and Mal and I will miss Bob and she visiting us each year when in Florida. I am grateful for the many fine memories that I have of this lovely lady.
