It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maralyn W. Oestrich, on March 31, 2025, in Pueblo, Colo. at the age of 85.
Maralyn W. Oestrich was born on August 13, 1939 in Haverhill, Mass. to Philip J. and Elinor (MacDonald) White.
She was a retired realtor, teacher, social worker, and volunteer who worked for Department of Corrections and Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Colorado. She truly made an impact to her students, coworkers, volunteers, and patients alike. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with others and provide them with honesty, and insightful support to approach difficult situations. She was an avid bird and cat lover, reader and crafter.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah A. Finch, and Ruth M Jillson; granddaughters, Rae-Chelle M. Oestrich and Annalouise F. Jillson; loving cat, Houdini “Dini”; and her honorary family, Janell and James Solomon and their children and grandchildren.
Though Maralyn W. Oestrich is no longer with us, her spirit of kindness, honesty, and dedication will live on in the many lives she touched.

I met Maralyn when we were both members of a book club that lasted over twenty years. We shared an August birthday month and would celebrate our birthdays together with book club by going to brunch or dinner. Maralyn was an interesting and amusing story teller and would entertain us by the stories she told and the experiences she had in her very full life. She will be missed.
Maralyn was a beautiful soul, I so enjoyed our talks. She will be missed.
Marilyn touched so many lives with her beautiful and kind heart. Always dedicated to all that she embraced, from Hospice social work to volunteer services. I will forever remember her at the many kids camps held over the years and Ms Marilyn right in the mix of things working with the kids. My deepest condolences to her family and her honorary family Janelle & James and family. Your spirit remains close, as we carry your memory deep in our hearts. Much respect Marilyn.
Marilyn was well loved in our book club. She was a well read and intelligent lady. Her generosity knew no bounds. She loved her cat Andy so much and I know she felt the same about her new cat. She will be sorely missed.
