Lori Lynn Masters peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 3rd, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lori is survived by her husband Darren, children; Aaron (Jessica) and Jaymie (Trevor), grandchildren; Hayden, Haizley, Ellie, Xyden, Karsyn, and Kynzli, her siblings; Linda (Craig) Shaddy, Lisa (Chuck) Sutcliffe and Steve Bigner, as well as numerous brother-and-sister-in laws, nieces and nephews. Lori is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Becky Bigner.
Lori was born in Pueblo, Colorado on May 25th, 1969, where she was raised with her family. In her younger years, Lori found her love for horses, riding at Riverside saddle club with her dad. She attended Pueblo County High School where she met many of her lifelong friends and her husband of 35 years. They were married shortly after high school in 1988. They raised two children together, and she spent many close years with them as a stay-at-home mom.
Lori later became a grandmother which was arguably her most prized title of them all. She devoted her time to caring for them and creating countless treasured memories.
She also had a love for going to church on Sundays, being outdoors in the mountains or at the beach and enjoyed spending her time making crafts with her friends. Her passion for crafting was only matched by her profound love for her many dogs, who brought joy and companionship to her life.
Lori lived by the belief that memories hold far more significance than material possessions. She prioritized caring for others ahead of herself and had a spirit that brightened the lives of everyone around her. Her genuine kindness left a mark on all who she encountered. She especially had a heart for others enduring their battles with cancer, and lent much hope and encouragement even as she was going through her own tough journey. Lori always maintained a remarkable attitude after her diagnosis in 2020, showcasing her strength in facing challenges without complaint.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at The Avenue Church, 3030 Thatcher Ave, Pueblo, CO 81005, on Wednesday, January 10th, at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow. All who knew and loved Lori are invited to join in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her beautiful life.
