Lorene Mae Kirkmeyer, 72, passed away Oct. 21, 2010. She was born on May 5, 1938, in Ida Grove, Iowa. Raised in Storm Lake, Iowa and attended Buena Vista College there earning her B.A. in teaching. Lorene taught elementary and middle school in Guam and Madera, Calif. for 25 years. She married Michael Kirkmeyer on Sept. 21, 1972, in Carson City, Nev. and moved to Erie, Colo. Lorene is survived by her loving husband, Michael; children, Wauneta Catherine Kirkmeyer, Irvin Michael Kirkmeyer and Carol Edith (Randy) Van Meter; grandsons, Darrell and Ozzie; and two stepsons, Mark and Kenneth.
