Larry Fillmore, 85, of Boone, CO, passed away February 10, 2026, in Pueblo,
surrounded by family.
Born January 13, 1941, in Pueblo to Arthur and Grace Fillmore, Larry was a lifelong
Boone resident and third-generation rancher. A respected cattleman, he helped
introduce European breeds to the area and was known as one of Southeast Colorado’s top AI technicians. He was active in preserving Boone High School’s history and was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed coaching his boys, supporting all of his children in 4-H, and cheering for the Denver Broncos and Nuggets.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; children Sherrie Fillmore, Connie Tidwell, Gary (Terri), Doug (LaTricia), Brent, and Joy; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Donnie Fillmore and Dorothy Trantham; stepson, Paul Baker and grandson Jeff Tabares.
Viewing: February 19, 2026, 5–7 p.m., Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. Service: February 20, 2026, at 10 a.m., Highland Baptist Church. Reception luncheon immediately following at Solid Rock Church in Fowler. Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church.
