Sunrise May 17, 1956 – Sunset August 22, 2024
Julie Roark, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by family August 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. No words can convey the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of positivity, kindness, and gratitude for others. Everyone she encountered she welcomed with open arms and a kind spirit. She embraced the simple idea that people do not remember what you say, but they never forget how you make them feel.
Julie’s passion and life’s devotion was being a wife and mother and taking care of her family. She cherished every moment with her husband Kevin and daughter Maggie. She had a network of close friends she considered family, and she always said, “Here’s to family that should be friends and friends that should be family.”
Julie truly had a heart of gold. Pets and animals held a special place in her heart, and she had several dogs over the years. There was never an animal she would not stop to pet, help, or just give one extra treat. Even the squirrels in her front yard were fed daily. Her beloved puggle Bella was by her side until the end.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Roark; daughter, Maggie (Kyle) Murdoch; brother, Bud James (Mary Webb); brother-in-law, Brian Roark (Maury Peck); cousin, Patty (Jim) Shultz; cousin, Sally (Pat) Lopker; along with other cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne James; father, John James; uncle, Sonny and aunt, Suzie Clark.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3rd, at the Olde Town Carriage House, 102 S. Victoria Street, Pueblo, Colorado 81003. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you send donations to The V Foundation https://www.v.org/ or The Pueblo Humane Society Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (hsppr.org)

So sorry to hear of Julie’s passing. The Roark family’s impact on my life can never be overstated, and will be something I will forever cherish. My thoughts and especially my prayers will be with Kevin and Maggie during this incredibly difficult time. Julie was a special woman and her memory will be one I carry with me as I navigate thru life.
We always enjoyed seeing and talking with Julie at Dante and Gio’s games. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Godspeed Julie.
