Joanne Marie Snyder, 76. Born Dec. 21, 1946, passed Oct. 14, 2023. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Mary Hunter; husband, Dennis Snyder; brother, Joe Hunter; and brother-in-law, Dwight Robbe. Survived by sister, Joan Robbe; sister-in-law, Kim Hunter; nieces, Diane Mattarocci and Debra Woolery (Lonnie); and nephews, Joey Hunter and Nick Hunter; great nieces, Alexandra Woolery and Morgan Mattarocci; great nephews, Tyler (Lynzi) Mattarocci, Clay (Kayla) Mattarocci and Bryce Woolery; and several great-great nieces and nephews. Also survived by her special friends in the Wednesday lunch group and Dawnie Jordan, loyal friend and caregiver.
Joanne was born and raised in Pueblo and graduated from Centennial High School then received her BA and Master’s Degrees from Western State College to go on to be a teacher and counselor in District 60 for over 30 years. She was a member of Beta Chapter Delta Kappa Gama and named Outstanding Woman of the Year in 2015. Retirement has kept Joanne busy traveling, volunteering at South Park Elementary School for the kids and staying active in the Episcopal Church and Vestry.
Viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Ascension Episcopal Church, 420 W 18th St. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Reception will be announced at the service.
