Joan Lucille James Robinson Wampler, 89, passed away Dec. 4, 2015 in Pueblo. Born May 2, 1926, in Williamsburg, Colo. to Joseph and Mary James. Joan graduated from Florence High School in Florence, Colo. in 1944 and graduated Minnequa School of Nursing in Pueblo in 1947. She worked as a Registered Nurse until retirement in 1988. She married Lester Robinson in 1947 and had two sons, Richard and Greg 'Griz' Robinson. She is preceded in death by husband, Lester Robinson (1983) and son, Griz Robinson (2009). In 1986, Joan married Jay Wampler. Survived by husband, Jay; granddaughters, Gracie Robinson and Lesley Robinson; daughter-in-law, Denise (Griz) Robinson; sisters, Carmeline Campbell and Eileen Waitman; brother, David (VeraMae) James; nieces and nephews; and son, Richard. Joan was a member of Assistance League Pueblo. She enjoyed square-dancing, traveling the world, volunteering, and spending time with her family. Memorial service, 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 310 W. 11th Street.
