Jerry Ryan, 93, passed away March 17, 2024. He is survived by his children, Kenny Ryan (Debra), Don Ryan, and Debbie Ryan Nelson (Neil). Other survivors include his grandchildren, Erik Nelson, Keri Nelson, Summer Ryan, Kevin Powell, Kelly Peter, Katrina Peter, Sairah Laide, Cory Verne, and Brandy Lueck. He also had numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by two sisters-in-law, Barbara Crossno and Patty Davis and step-sisters, Sharon Ryan, Kathy Wilkinson and Jeanette Lowe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Ryan; granddaughter, Sarah Ryan; brother, Mike Ryan; and step-brother, Jim Ryan.
Jerry was born in Seattle Washington on December 28, 1930. He moved to Loveland, Colorado with his mom and step dad when he was 8 years old and has lived in Colorado since. He married Roberta Blackwelder on September 16, 1953.
Jerry and Roberta ran the Lake Ave. Dairy Queen for many years. They touched the lives of many customers and employees; their lives were also enriched by those same people and their friends. Jerry liked to fish and was able to go to the mountains for a fishing trip just last summer. He enjoyed playing cards, watching TV, and had a love for baseball. In fact, he oversaw many backyard plastic bat and ball games with the neighborhood kids while his own kids were growing up. And he was always content to have a cat curled up on his lap.
Special thanks to Ronni Owens, his excellent care-giver; Nancy Aguero, family friend; granddaughter, Summer Gomez Ryan for many day and night visits, errands and endless love; grandson, Erik Nelson, financial manager extraordinaire; great-grandchildren, Autumn and Chris Gomez who frequently visited their great-grandpa and played countless hands of cards with him, as recently as early March; and the wonderful, dedicated and caring staff of Abode Hospice.

  1. Mr Ryan Jerry
Was every kids dad in the neighborhood
At time he was a big kid too
I remember him lighting up his backyard so we could play plastic ball and bat.
We would laugh and have great times almost daily
I think knew we were saying thank you
With the joy he involved himself with and the end joy
Now our memories he was loved by one and all

  2. CandleImageMy father in law was very special to me. He was always there to take me to doctor appointments, play card games, sit and listen, play ball with the kids, he loved BBQ’s, going to the lake, reading and animating The Night before Christmas to the kids, the many trips our family went on. I can’t even begin to say the many times he made me laugh so hard I cried. Love and miss you Papason
