Jeanie Lynnette Bowen was born April 9, 1956, in Pueblo, Colo. to the union of Gerald and Betty Lile and entered eternal life October 14, 2016. Survived by the love of her life and husband since June 3, 1977, Guy; her two wonderful sons and their wives, Derek (Heather) and Greg (Ashley); two grandchildren 'Sweeties,' Burton and Campbell; grand-dogs; and her many, many friends. Preceded in death by her parents. Jeanie enjoyed gardening, camping and fishing at Taylor Reservoir, which she always called God's Country, with her family. She loved being a homemaker, wife, mother and Grandma 'GiGi' and loved watching her two sons grow and play many sports. She attended every event, and I mean every event, her two sons and two grandchildren were involved in. These were the loves of her life and the lights of her life. Jeanie says she 'Will See You On The Other Side.' Funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, 310 W. 11th Street. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Dear Bowen Family, time and has passed and still we cannot stop thinking about the people we love and miss. There will be a time when we will see our loved ones again. At Revelations 21:4 it says,”And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.The former things have passed away..”
What a beautiful lady Jeanie was to all who knew her. I recall fondly our days at Sunset Park and tennis and basketball and Central Booster Club as well as waving to each other in the Event Center cheering on the high schoolers even when our kids had graduated. Whether it had been weeks since we had seen each other or years, that smile and kindness and love for the boys and you Guy always shined through. She talked with such love when she talked about the boys and their wonderful wives and then grandchildren. I am so sad for her passing and now know why we had not seen each other in a few years but I know she went straight to our heavenly Lord’s house and is still shining down proudly at all of you as you all continue to accomplish great things. Dear Guy and Family,
We were completely shocked to hear about Jeanie’s death, and then to find out that she has been suffering for over two years was too much. We can’t imagine how much she went through, and how much this affected all of you. So hard to be a caregiver for someone so sick.
I know her passing will be hard on everyone, but keep the great memories of her close to you. You are in our thoughts and prayers. She was too young for this to have happened. Much love sent to you, Dave and Jan Chenoweth

Guy I was completely shocked when I read about Jeannie. I am so sorry for your loss, I know how much you two meant to each other and how she loved her boys and her grandchildren. I wish I would have known she was ill, I feel really bad for not being a better friend. Jeannie was always a very special friend even though we didn’t see each that often. I guess it the bond of knowing each other since kinder garden. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boys and their families. God Bless all of you and God Bless Jeannie. Dear Guy and family,
Having known you and Jeannie for several years now, I want you to know what wonderful neighbors you’ve both always been to my parents who live next door. Your care and thoughtfulness have always been so much appreciated. It was fairly recently that I got a chance to know Jeannie better and hear her share her love for your children and grandchildren. Those little ones truly were the light in her life! And how she loved both her boys and their wives! She wanted to be strong for you, Guy, and for her family. Her hope and her bravery in this battle with cancer was always such an inspiration to me, and I admired her so much! I thank God that I was blessed with knowing Jeannie and I want you all to know that you will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
