James H. Young, age 80, passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2022.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Joy (Gary) French; son, Jason (Burgen) Young; granddaughters, Hope, Mikayla, Chloe and Tessa; brother-in-law, Clarence Garretson; sisters-in-laws, Yolanda (Clayton) Fetzer, Wanda (Doug) William, Janet Garretson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother; mother, Charlotte Young Howard; father, Justus Young; and step-father, Funston Howard; brother-in-law, Tom Garretson; and sister-in-law, Judy Garretson.
He was born October 25, 1942, in Tucson, Arizona., and lived in New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado while growing up. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Colorado and attended William Jewell College in Missouri where he was a keen chess and checkers player. In addition to 5 years in the Marine Corps Reserves, he worked 35 years with the Colorado Department of Transportation (retired as a project engineer) and 15 years with H&R Block (tax preparer). He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking trips to the mountains, watching old TV shows, and reading westerns and mysteries.
His family appreciates the quality time he gave them and celebrates his life.

My husband passed this year on Labor Day. I know how a broken heart feels.
