Hope Alexandria Newman-Segura was born on July 26, 1996, in Pueblo, Colo., and returned to Heaven to rejoice in the kingdom of eternal life on January 4, 2023, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs at the age of 26 after being ill for several months.

Our beautiful daughter leaves to celebrate in her memory, her beloved husband Robert Segura along with her pride and joy Baby Michael. Stepdaughters Maddie and Laura. She is the daughter of Michael and Candice Beggs. Her siblings Gianni Belle and Archie. Leroy Newman and Renee (Michael) Salazar. Stepsiblings Ashlee and Cooper. Her grandparents Gloria and Andrew Martinez and John Beggs. Hopie leaves to cherish in her memory her Aunties Louise (Frank) Aragon, Debbie Galvez, and Lorraine Galvez, Angela (Gary) DeHerrera, Christina (Shawn) Beard, Dana (Cory) Junkman, Uncles Michael (Christina) Sandoval and John (Heather) Sandoval Britney (Lance) Allen. Nieces and Nephews: Brooke, Bradley, Evangaleen, and Ayden. Special Cousins Nicolle (Anthony) Mannino, Kailey, Jeffrey Mikkelson, Summer (Thomas) Slaughter, Marcos (Brandi) Villalobos, Victoria (Gabe) Abeyta. Hope has several other aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members that are truly amazing, and we are so grateful to have them in our lives. She is preceded in death by her Great-Grandparents Archie and Susie Galvez, Great-Grandparents Andres and Tina. Grandmother Georgette Beggs, Aunties Cecelia Sandoval, Mary Sandoval, and Jennifer Hund. Cousin Baby Tamika.

Hopie was a beautiful soul with a big heart that would do anything for someone in need. She was an amazing mother to her son and gave him so much love that he will forever carry with him as he grows up. Those that were able to experience knowing Hope absolutely loved her. She was so beautiful and funny. She loved to sing at the top of her lungs and dance with all of us but especially loved dancing around with Baby Michael on her hip. She enjoyed baking and making little heart-shaped pancakes for her husband, baby boy, little sister, and brother. She loved teaching Gigi and Archie how to bake. Hopie had recently started school, to pursue a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Trauma Informed Care. She had a dream to one day work with women who have suffered extreme trauma in their lives. No matter how ill Hope was, she did her absolute best to care for her family and concentrate on her degree. Hope will be deeply missed but we know as promised in Revelations 21:3-4 God has wiped every tear from her eyes. She is NEW AGAIN, living in her mansion in the sky.

We are so blessed to have wonderful friends and family that have come to help us during this very difficult time by bringing food, and flowers, helping us keep the house presentable with three little ones, and the numerous phone calls of support. A special thank you, Angelica, for your part in her memory T-Shirts and raising money for expenses, and my Niece Victoria, who was so strong and helped me make special handprints for the kids. We would also like to thank the wonderful and most amazing doctors and nurses at Penrose who were fighting so hard to save Hope. Their patience and kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you to her special friends Morgan, Amy, and Jessica who reached out to the family to share stories and offer their support.  An extra special thanks, to the staff, parents, and students at St. Therese Catholic School for their support and generosity.

Pastor Michael Chrisman will lead a Prayer Service on Thursday, January 12, at 6 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 10 a.m., both services are held, at Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church, 320 Goodnight Ave in Pueblo. The Rite of Committal will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 5450 CO-78 in Pueblo.

  3. My sweet Hopie, I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. Time flies by and we don’t even realize where it went. 26 years wasn’t enough time. I trust in God our Father and I will hold you in my heart until I get to come home. John 14:1-4 ” Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. “And where I go you know, and the way you know.” There are many promises Christ gave us, this is my most treasured. I will love and cherish your baby boy as I have loved and cherished you. I love you my beautiful sissy. Love grammy and grampy.

  4. You were a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. Now you walk among the Angels, and may you forever be at peace.
