Gary L. Hollis

I remember staying with Aunt Janet and Uncle Gary for a few days when I was a kid. I cornered a black feral cat in the shed. I asked him to help me catch it, so I could tame it. After a good deal of pleading, he reluctantly got a pair of leather gloves and followed me into the shed. When he realized I was asking him to jump a full grown cat rather than a kitten, he laughed and handed off the gloves. Later, he found me on the porch caressing my new pet.

Sometime later, he stayed with Grandpa Sid and Grandma Pat. He used to tease me because every mealtime I would meticulously take everyone’s drink order pretending to be a waitress, and then I would set the table with water.

(These seem like stories about me, but the memory for me was his sense of humor and how good-natured he was about a dumb kid.)
