Fred Rilling went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on July 9, 2018, at age 89. Fred is survived by Thelma, his wife of 58 years; his son, Mark (Trish) Rilling; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Scialla; and grandchildren, Decklan, Maya and Matthew Rilling and Kylen, Brenden and Landon Scialla; also his sister, Eleanor Larsen of Ft. Meyers, Fla. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; and sister, Jeanne Reece. Fred was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Richmond Hills, NYC. Upon high school graduation, he joined the Marines at age 17 to proudly serve his country for three years. In 1954, Fred graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Colorado A&M College, now Colorado State University. He earned an M.S. in Reproductive Physiology from U of Wisconsin, Madison. After a few years in the livestock industry, Fred worked 30 years as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep, traveling Southern Colorado and Utah. He enjoyed riding his horses on the high mountain trails with family and friends, camping and fishing the high lakes. Fred wishes to acknowledge the love and friendship of his church family, various medical staff, Sangre de Cristo Hospice, and kind and helpful neighbors. Inurnment, 9 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery followed by the service at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at Central Christian Church, 1902 N.   1. I’m so sorry I didn’t know about Fred’s passing earlier. He was a wonderful man that I always looked for in church. He always had an interest in what was going on in my life, and always had a fist bump waiting for me. The whole family are great people and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though it’s been a year and a half I’m sure there is a big hole left by his absence.

    Thank you for sending us the church bulletin and Fred’s service, as well as a link to view Fred’s online condolences. We have only good thoughts and wonderful memories of Fred over many many years. The times we would visit you in Pueblo, was a special blessing. Your faithfulness in following the Lord was a true inspiration. Thank you Thelma for all the years you and Fred supported our ministry in Alaska and Canada. I will treasure the letters Fred sent me on a number of occasions. You are all in our prayers for comfort, encouragement and strength during your time of loss. You/we were all blessed to have had Fred with us for 89 precious years. I know he made a difference in so many lives, and will surely be missed. God bless you. Sending our love.

  4. Fred was a very nice man. He always made me smile. I am going to truly miss him. Known him for about 32 years. My condolences go out to his family. Thelma is wonderful also.

  6. Thelma, I’m so glad that Andrea, Mattea and I were able to see Fred one last time before he entered into glory. We had a wonderful visit and thoroughly enjoyed listening to him quote poetry. We will always remember him as someone who loved our ministry with a whole heart. We pray for your comfort during this time.

    I will remember him fondly.

  10. Thelma, I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was a deeply caring and gentle man who helped my mother thru his friendship and visits. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  14. Nancy, I’m thinking of you, your Mom and all of your family. My deepest condolences. And condolences from my Mom and brother. I know how mich you loved your Dad and how close you were to him. What a wonderful man. . He certainly made a lasting impression on me that I will carry with me through my life. So blessed to have known him.
