It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Elia John Bagale, MD, who left us on July 31, 2025, at the age of 82. Dr. Bagale is predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Bagale; and his wife, Suzanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale was a treasured father to Jennifer and Daniel, and a doting grandfather to Joshua and Jeffrey. He also leaves behind his beloved son-in-law, Jeff, and his cherished sisters, Beth Roberts and Rosanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale’s life was filled with meaningful contributions, both professionally and personally. Dr. Bagale was born on July 9, 1943, in Flint, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and served in the US Air Force as a Major after completing a residency in Internal Medicine. After moving to Pueblo, Colorado, he practiced Internal Medicine for nearly four decades and cared for many patients. When he wasn’t providing patient care, he could always be found woodworking and enjoying life in his cabin in South Colony Creek. Upon retirement, Dr. Bagale was a compassionate caregiver for his ailing wife. Dr. Bagale was loved by many patients and all of his South Colony Creek friends. He loved family get-togethers and holiday dinners and loved bringing presents to his family’s dogs, Gunner, Yeti, and Kodiak. He lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. A celebration of life for Dr. Bagale will be held for friends, family, colleagues, and patients at 2 p.m. on September 6, 2025, in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
