It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Elia John Bagale, MD, who left us on July 31, 2025, at the age of 82. Dr. Bagale is predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy Bagale; and his wife, Suzanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale was a treasured father to Jennifer and Daniel, and a doting grandfather to Joshua and Jeffrey. He also leaves behind his beloved son-in-law, Jeff, and his cherished sisters, Beth Roberts and Rosanne Bagale. Dr. Bagale’s life was filled with meaningful contributions, both professionally and personally. Dr. Bagale was born on July 9, 1943, in Flint, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan Medical School and served in the US Air Force as a Major after completing a residency in Internal Medicine. After moving to Pueblo, Colorado, he practiced Internal Medicine for nearly four decades and cared for many patients. When he wasn’t providing patient care, he could always be found woodworking and enjoying life in his cabin in South Colony Creek. Upon retirement, Dr. Bagale was a compassionate caregiver for his ailing wife. Dr. Bagale was loved by many patients and all of his South Colony Creek friends. He loved family get-togethers and holiday dinners and loved bringing presents to his family’s dogs, Gunner, Yeti, and Kodiak. He lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. A celebration of life for Dr. Bagale will be held for friends, family, colleagues, and patients at 2 p.m. on September 6, 2025, in the Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Dr Bagale was our doctor until his retirement. He was a caring doctor and an excellent diagnostician. He was also our mountain friend with whom we shared many wonderful memories. He will be missed by us and all of his mountain friends.
Dr. Bagale was my doctor for many years until he retired. He was the best, don’t make them like he was any more.
I was blessed to know Dr. Bagale! My family were some of his earliest patients, as many were from the comments I am reading. He was the best person, doctor, friend, and we still were going to dinner with him until he got really sick. He was passionate about his family and friends, all of whom are going to miss him greatly. I know I will! My sympathies to Jennifer and Daniel and family.
Dr Bagale was our doctor and friend for over 40 years. He truly was one of a kind always so caring and loving to us and never too busy to visit. He was a brilliant man with a humble heart and such an amazing physician! He will be missed dearly! My deepest sympathy to the family!

Dr. Bagale was my doctor for many years, he found my heart and kidney problems. And I believe he saved my life twice.
My Mother worked in his office and enjoyed every moment. He was a kind, wonderful Man.
