Resided in: Pueblo, CO

Edwin Eugene Scriven, age 76, went to his heavenly home April 26, 2017, after suffering an accidental fall. He was born in Laramie, Wyo. to W.E. and Ellda Scriven. The majority of his life was spent in the Fort Collins/Loveland, Colo. area before retiring to Pueblo, Colo. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Catherine; three children, Ed (Diane) Scriven, Elizabeth (Keith) Sunshine and Selene Scriven; three grandchildren, Levi, Liam and Lyle Scriven; five siblings, Freddy Scriven, David (Maria) Scriven, Loni (Leonard) Mills, Ruthie (Dennis) Wilhelm and Julia (Tom) Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth (Lillian) Scriven. Ed was a proud Veteran who spent seven years with the Navy and 22 years with the Army Reserves. He received a Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in Construction Management, and a Master's in Business Administration. The bulk of his career was spent at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins before retiring in 2003 to relocate south of Pueblo. Ed and Cathi then built their log dream home and settled into the rural lifestyle. For several years, he spent time around Pueblo installing security systems for 1st Alert, but his passion involved anything with an engine or moving parts. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and tractors, and collecting Civil War memorabilia and Western novels. A good day was spent on a motorcycle ride, helping others or leading a Bible study. Ed was a faithful member of Cross Pointe Church. He participated in several antique car clubs, and more recently he was active as treasurer for the Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Private visitation will be for family members only. Entombment, Mountain View Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flight for Life Colorado or Pueblo Weisbrod Aircraft Museum, 31001 Magnuson Ave., Pueblo, CO 81001. 1. Cathi, Eddie, Liz and Selene, my thoughts are with you guys. I love you all and keep you close in my heart during this difficult time. But to Gene I must say: I miss you big brother. Your spirit shone so brightly you would illuminate a room just by walking into it. I appreciate how you were always attentive to me, even when I was kid, always willing to tease, and tickle and teach me. I remember motorcycle rides as a kid, and your Packard lending an air of vintage elegance to my wedding. Popping in for surprise visits when you worked at PVH and feeling like an important guest as you introduced me to your staff and colleagues. We helped you a little on building your new log home, what a magnificent place that is. You guys did good! Your were so knowledgeable when you gave us the tour at the air museum, and I loved that you celebrated your 50th there. These and so many more memories are mine to cherish, and until we meet again, know I love you. Your kid sister, Julia
