Colette Wright

Colette Wright, 85.  A graveside service was held for the family of Colette Wright at 2pm, on January 19 th ,
2024 at the Golden Cemetery in Golden, CO.
Colette was the only child of Kenneth and Lucille Strode. She was born on January 31, 1938, in
Guymon, Oklahoma and grew up in Wichita, Kansas. She had been a resident of Colorado City, CO
for the past 16 years.
Colette first worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita, KA as an aircraft scheduler, before moving to
Florida in 1966. She earned a BA and MA, both in education. She was a high school math teacher
for most of her life and retired from Alameda High School in Lakewood CO in 1997.
Colette entered into rest on January 5 th , 2024. She loved watching the wildlife from her home,
weaving, spinning, her friends at the Tapestry and Handweavers Guilds, and her puppies.
She is survived by her son, Sam Wright and wife Brenda of Littleton, CO; grandson Aaron Wright of
Littleton, CO; granddaughter, Brittany Kelly and her husband Joseph of Highlands Ranch, CO; great
granddaughter, Clara Marie Kelly; cousin, Sue Retta Lewis of Wichita, KA; and sister-in-law Gail
Clopp of Reno, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wright, of 60 years.
