Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Carole Lee Jimison passed away on July 4th, 2019 after experiencing several years of Alzheimer's dementia. She went peacefully to be with the Lord in her own bed at home. Her husband Doug was by her side during her entrance into the next life. Carole was born in Sioux City, Iowa on August 26th, 1940. She was the second daughter adopted by Neva and Gilbert Turkleson. After graduation from East High School in Sioux City, she attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She married Douglas on the 9th of June, 1962. They graduated together as Elementary School teachers in June 1963. They started their teaching careers in Iowa before moving with their oldest son to Alaska. Together they were the pre-school through 8th grade teachers in three villages. During this time they had their second son and finished Master's degrees in Education. In 1973 the family moved to Colorado where Carole and Doug taught school until they retired. During early retirement they moved to Mexico to home school three pastor's children for two years. After returning to the United States, they moved to Washington state and had a tutoring business there. They returned to Colorado in 1999 and settled in Pueblo and joined the Calvary Church family. Here she home schooled her granddaughter and three other girls. Carole had a great love for children and would compliment parents about their children when she saw them in public. Parents loved to hear her positive comments. Carole was always a great hostess, loved people (especially those 10 and younger), and had a great positive spirit that directed her life. Carole loved to travel. She has been to all 50 states, Costa Rica, Mexico, Canada, Israel, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and China. We are so glad she made these trips before she became ill. Carole is survived by her husband of 57 years Douglas; sons, Daryl (Lori) and Daryn (Theresa). Five young adults called her grandma: Conner, Daniel, Laura, Thomas and Dustin. Memorial service, 1:30 p.m. July 20, 2019, at Calvary Church, 5 Tulane. Casual dress is requested.
