Carl N. Sandvik, 75, went to join his Viking ancestors on September 2, 2017. Born in Baltimore Maryland, he was preceded in death by parents, Einar and Loretta Sandvik; and sister, Catherine M. Davis. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacqueline; and children, D. Kristine Sandvik (Ronald Kiesz), Carl E. Sandvik (Judith), and Karen S. Mayberry (Michael). Also survived by Jillian, Kaitlyn, Cameryn Sandvik, and Jessica Mayberry.
Carl graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy Long Island New York and entered the Coast Guard where he achieved the rank of second lieutenant in the Marine Inspection Office of San Francisco. After graduating from University of San Francisco with a Juris Doctor, he practiced law in San Francisco, Oakland and Walnut Creek California. Cremation has taken place at Montgomery & Steward Crematorium.
A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at El Pueblo Museum, 301 North Union Ave., Pueblo, at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017. At Carl's request, please wear colorful, casual clothing.

During 57 – 59 Carl and I shared a room at Charlotte Hall Military Academy. In the same period Carl saved my life when I fell through the ice on Glebe Creek with fireman’s boots on, Carl grabbed a sign post and handed it to me which allowed me to get out of a bad situation.
Sorry to hear of Carl’s passing. He was a good guy.
