Billie F. Carter, 96, born Oct. 17, 1918, passed away July 29, 2015. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack, son, J. Ralph Carter, and Kevin Wagner whom she helped to raise. Survived by daughters, Dianne (Bill) Drake of Lovelock, Nev. and Pam (Brad) Rice of Beulah; grandchildren, Denice (Steve) Cerini of Lovelock, Nev., Billy (Nicole) Drake of Tempe, Ariz., Brian Rice of Pueblo and Jen (Paul) Maley of Windsor, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Stu (Jessica) Davidson, Jake, Kati Rae and Kyra Jo Cerini, Kenleigh Drake, Davis and Kaylynn Rice, Hudson and Crosby Maley; and great-great grandson, Wyatt Davidson. Billie leaves behind many others who loved and admired her, including nieces and nephews, the staff and residents at Sharmar Village and her sister-in-law and best friend, Phyllis Larson of Pueblo West. She influenced many children in her life as a loving caregiver, Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, mother and grandmother. Billie always wore a smile and gave a lifetime of service putting God and others first in her life. She was a founding member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 3939 W. Pueblo Blvd. where her funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, Aug. 3, 2015. Interment and reception will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Dianne and Pam, those in heaven are rejoicing as they greet with open arms, love and happiness, one of the kindest and most humble persons to have graced this earth and I have ever known and been loved by. I am sorry to hear of your loss, but happy for those reuniting with Billie, who are singing in gratitude as you give her up to them. I grieve for you both and your family in your loss. Carolyn Mason

Dianne and Pam. You have my deepest sympathy. I never met you mother but from reading about her she seemed like a real dear person. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

An unexpected storm of summer
Tears
dropping
in rapid succession
Each droplet
responding to
earths cries..
Tears-
thawing cubes of
realism
as they flow
beneath the veneer
melding with the sorrow
that bores itself deep…
A time that wraps tightly
the vastness of our grief.
I walked in the rain today-
feeling the painful nuances of yesterday
Reminded again
and forever saddened by the fate of
failed visits and yesterdays
promises.
Suddenly-
overwhelmed by the urgency of
an invisible breeze~~~
Perhaps a reunion-
the echoing of two
sisters’
gentle embrace
I gazed skyward
and wept as the drops danced peacefully
upon my face~~~~
Farwell Aunt Billie,
please give my mamma a hug and know that the memories of you both
will linger forever within our hearts.

Pam, I am so very sorry for your loss.
Dianne and Pam…you both have lost a very precious mother, and I will be praying for your entire family at this difficult time. I will try to come to the service on Monday. Will see you there.
I enjoyed getting to know Billie while she was at Sharmar. She always had a big smile and a kind word. I will miss singing for her.
