Arthur Louis Schwager, Sr., age 82, went to be with his Lord on March 4, 2005. He was born July 14, 1922, in Woodside, Long Island, N.Y. Survived by his wife, of 38 years, Laura; children, Arthur Jr. (Sharon) of Trenton, N.J., Kathleen (Lyle) Rockefeller of Colorado Springs, Charles (Marie) of Pueblo. Also survived by grandchildren, David (Christy), Andrew (Rachel), James, Timothy and Patrick Schwager; Kristin (Ted) Meeker, Mark (Clare) and Matthew Rockefeller; great-grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan Schwager, Sydney and Meagan Meeker, Mark Jr. and Wesley Rockefeller; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Emily Lentz; grandmother, Ida Kemp (who raised Art after Emily's death); aunt, Pauline Waage; and wife of 21 years, Doris Schwager. Art retired from CF&I as Data Processing Operations Manager after 41 years of service. He volunteered for many years at the Pueblo Zoo as a docent and zoo photographer. He loved to photograph nature and was an avid golfer. He will be remembered by those that love him as a patient, gentle man that loved his family with all his heart. Memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at First United Methodist Church, 11th and Court, with the Reverend Dr. Rick Calhoun officiating.
