Alice Marguerite Selvage, 89, went peacefully to her Savior on Friday, July 20th. A life-long Puebloan whose grandparents homesteaded near Branson, CO, Alice graduated from Central High in 1947. Her adventurous spirit lead her to learn to pilot planes in the Civil Air Patrol in WWII. She worked first as a hairdresser and then for School District 60, retiring in 1985. Alice's life was one of faith, love, beauty and courage. She was an accomplished artist, seamstress and porcelain doll maker. Her attention to detail was amazing. Her home was beautiful and welcoming and she never spoke an unkind work to anyone. Alice was an avid reader and collector of classic literature. She belonged to Friends' of the Library and had a beautiful library in her home. She fought and survived metastatic cancer for over 35 years. Her family will forever remember her as the funniest person we know. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Clarence and Goldie McCown, and brother Clinton. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of over 70 years, Leroy Selvage, and children Donald (Robbie) Selvage, Kelly (Doug) Park, Luann (Rod) Allsworth, and grandchildren Brian Selvage, April (Nick) Lavenant, Christina Bible, Shonee Allsworth, Laura Sommers, Jollene Allsworth and Kayla (Ezyk) Olson, all of whom love her dearly. Alice leaves a legacy of love, faith in Christ and laughter to 21 great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, July 31st at 10:30 am at Montgomery and Steward Chapel, 1317 N. Main in Pueblo, CO, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery, and a reception with the family following. The Selvage family with be ever grateful to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and the Joni Fair Hospice House, 1207 Pueblo Blvd Way, Pueblo, CO 81005, to whom memorials may be made in Alice's name. My prayers to the family. Alice and I kept in touch through the family newsletter that has gone by the wayside. She was a wonderful and talented woman. I would stop by when I was in her area during my nursing career with Parkview. She will be missed. A distant Zion cousin. Hugs, Sandi
