Claudette, Gregg, Shelley, and Steve*
Since you are the only Slaughter family members we met, this will be attributed to you, but I am praying for the family. This is a difficult time. I remember when I lost my dad when I was 42. Bob was always smiling when I saw him, whether he was in church or in the family home. Claudette, I will always remember the Bible study we had in your home with Sister Ruth and many of my friends. You have such a gift of hospitality as I remember. Steve, I remember the Bible study I had in your and Lisa’s home, too. It was there I got to know Max and Leta, who now live in the same city as my son. Pastor Gregg, (to me you will always be “Pastor”) I remember the day (Mother’s Day when Shirley was 14 years old) and you and Steve baptized her at Pueblo Christian Center. I also remember fondly your time in Mexico with us on the MAPS Missions trips. And you were my son’s Youth Pastor! He will be 50 this year! He is married and has two lovely daughters and is working from home, doing Computer Programming, and making $100 an hour. Pastor Steve Chavez was his counselor at the Boy’s Ranch when he was 14. You were always such an inspiration to my children and to me and I am thankful I got to meet your folks. I will pray for comfort and healing for your family. I love you guys and the powerful presence you had in my life and the lives of my children!
