A Life Long Friendship
I met Barb in the fall of 1977. We were both enrolled in an Art class together at Long Beach City College. We became instant friends. We loved going to restaurants, movies and dance clubs. A few months later, we took a stained glass class together at one of the local shops and would do our stained glass together over good rock music and wine. We even sold some of our work, which was so exciting for us! That summer we took our first trip to Hawaii- 10 days and 3 islands, Oahu, Maui and the big island, Hawaii. We no sooner came back that we were planning our next trip the following summer, to Maui for 7 days. We took a road trip from Long Beach to Oregon the next year. After Barb moved to Granite Falls, WA, I visited her in April of 1981. She came to visit me in San Antonio, TX in 1984 where she met her future husband, Michael while on vacation, which happily was the way I met my husband, Mark earlier that same year! Throughout the 47 years of our friendship, we always stayed in touch, sharing the good times, the not so good times and everything in between. When Barb moved to Texas for a short time, we saw each other several times, and even went on a trip to St Martinsville, LA for the weekend. My final trip was in May to see her in Colorado. We were best friends, lifelong friends, and she will always be in my heart and in my memories. Till we meet again my best friend, I will never forget you.
