  1. I send my prayers and condolences from Australia. I was lucky enough to have Mr Carere as my Principal at Centennial High School in the ’80s. He was always a smiling, kind, welcoming, supportive, helpful, happy, inspirational person and definitely made an impression on me. I know that his love and prayers have supported my family and the Pueblo Community for many years. He will be missed.

  2. Mr. Carere and I were indicted into the East High Hall of Fame on the same day.
He was a guidence counselor when I was there. We didn’t have much interaction at East.
I am impressed when reading all the input about his life in these documents.
Yes indeed, we have lost a great man.
    RIP.

  3. My condolences to his family and friends. I was a student at South High School and I graduated in 1977. Woe was my principal and he was a very wonderful man. He will be missed here on earth, but the Lord has him now. When I went to my 10th class reunion it was a pleasure to see him again. May the Lord bless his family and friends.
    I will always remember him.

  4. I always enjoyed visiting with your dad. From one educator to another. Thank you for all you did for students throughout the years.

  5. One of my best memories of Woe was when my East High Tennis Team won regionals. His son, Blake was the number two player and qualified for State. He came around a corner with his smile going from ear to ear to congratulate us.
That smile has stayed with me all these years.
    Thank you sir!!!!!
    Coach Francis

  6. I had known Woe as a coach before he came to South High. I always felt so honored that he chose me to work alongside him as the interim AD when he was principal. He supported me so much, and he always had my back. I respected him very much both as a principal and a friend. It was a pleasure working for him at South. Woe and Barb are some of my favorite people, and Phyllis and I were always happy to run into them around town. He was truly a good man, and will be sorely missed, not only by his family and friends but the community as a whole. Definitely a life well lived.

  7. I just returned from Woe’s beautiful funeral service. Barb, Kim and Blake you did a great job commemorating Woe’s outstanding life. I first met Woe in 1973 as a math teacher at South High. Our friendship grew over years both personally and professionally. He was my mentor from the very beginning. I learned a great deal from him in whatever position in the district I held. I knew I could count on him always. We maintained a great relationship after we both had retired. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Woe and for Barb. I will miss him greatly.

  8. We have appreciated and known Woe Carere since 1994, when we hired his daughter Kim. He has always been a source of support for her and us, through her. We offer condolences to the whole family for this great loss. Woe has been a source of support for all his students and through the Christian community in Pueblo. May God be with all of you through this period of grief and loss. Ann and Roger Wright

  9. Aunt Barb and Family:
What can we say that you don’t already know? Uncle Woe was one of our best Uncles we had and now he joins the other one and my dad in heaven! I’m sure they will have to be better behaved in heaven than they did here on earth (LOL). We love you and your family and always will. We look forward to the day we all meet again in heaven. May you and your family find the peace, love and comfort needed to get through this difficult time. Remember we will always be here for you. Rick, Vicki and Mom

  10. May your memory be eternal Mr. Carere. I still can hear your voice and the wisdom you shared with me as a young man. You were a great man, father, husband and human. So many of our chats are going through my head and I use them often in my life and leadership.

  11. Our deepest condolences to your family. Mr. C touched many lives in the Pueblo community. He was a man of great character, integrity and faith. Those qualities were reflected in both his leadership in our schools and his personal life.

  14. Praise God for the life and enduring ministry of Woe! He was blessed with enormous capacity and energy for doing good in this world. As a faithful servant of God, he was called to fulfill many roles and responsibilities and never wavered. He had incredible ability to build relationships, accept personal accountability and be a decisive leader. Combined with his drive, passion and devotion to Barb and family, Woe was THE ROLE MODEL I needed as a youth and still need today. His life truly was an active ministry. Peace to you, BARB, as your soulmate departs. Woe was able to be Woe because, as a couple, your love and sacrifices for each other were so incredibly strong. And Peace to the family who shares in Woe’s legacy. Praise God!

  15. God Bless the entire family. Jim knew Woe when he was at the Belmont Club when Jim was a teenager. What a fine gentleman. May God and our Savior Jesus surround the family with His unfailing love and the wonderful memories that surround Woe’s life.

  16. We were so blessed and grateful to learn about the Bible and the love of Jesus in Woe’s Sunday school class. He had a tremendous knowledge of scripture and his love of Jesus was evident. We will always remember our lively discussions. He welcomed questions and would always get back to us if he didn’t have the answer at hand. He greatly impacted our walk with the Lord. We was a caring person and was truly interested in the lives of others. And he was a great hugger!!
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Barb and the family. May you have peace knowing that Woe was welcomed into heaven with “Well done, my faithful servant”.

  20. I want to tell you a story about a 14 year old boy sitting on his porch step with a tennis racket in hand and nobody to play with. Then my next door neighbor came out and asked me to go play tennis with him. To take the time out of his busy day away from his family to play tennis with me was wonderful. That neighbor was Mr. Carere! I later on took his classes at SCSC in driver ed and ended up teaching tennis and driver ed for 15 years in California. After that, we have had a driving school for 40 years in Colorado.. His kindness and leadership had a profound influence on me to this day, 60 years later. My deepest regrets and sympathy to his family. Rod and Ginny Conahan

  21. Mr. Carere was a great teacher!! Had him for Driver’s Ed!! We had a few harrowing lessons depending on the student driving!!

  22. Dear Barb and family, You all have my deepest, heartfelt sympathies. Woe has left such a hole, as well as a hugh legacy, in so many lives. 24. Daniel ” Danny ” Sanchez, Class of 1964.

Such a sad loss. Woe was loved by all. He taught me how to drive a car and under his leadership I made it to the state tennis championships, two years in a row. He was that person in my life, that made me want to stay in school and succeed in life. It pleases me to know he was a Christian and someday we’ll meet again. Rest in peace, Coach.

  25. Mr. Carere was great. He made me a better driver, taught me how to parallel park. Complemented me on a funky sweater I used to wear. I will always appreciate and remember him. We are all better to have known him.
