Sherry Lynn (O’Brien) Massarotti

Sherry Lynn (O’Brien) Massarotti exemplified the spirit of a strong Irish woman. She was independent, strong-willed, loving, stubborn, and had a strong work ethic. She was born in Pueblo on February 14, 1947, and passed away on Wednesday, August 27, at the age of 78 due to various health-related complications. She was a proud Central High School Wildcat. Throughout her life, she demonstrated remarkable willpower and tenacity, overcoming numerous health challenges despite the odds being against her. Sherry held several jobs, including working in a physician’s office, serving as a bookkeeper, working as a hospice receptionist, and selling real estate. Although her life was not easy due to her numerous health issues, she had a deep love for her family and a close-knit group of friends who had been by her side for over 60 years. Sherry was the only child of Harold O’Brien and Mildred (Clemens) O’Brien, who preceded her in death. Sherry is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Pearce, son, Kevin (Doug Rodenbeck) Massarotti; her grandchildren, Brandi Aragon and Devin Pearce; great-grandchildren, Zayden and Szyler Aragon, and Via and Ember Pearce. At Sherry’s request, no services will be held. Online condolences at www.MontgomerySteward.com

  1. CandleImageDear Sherry, I remember when we met. It was in grade school at Central Grade School.
Then many many years later I was working at Sangre de Cristo Hospice and was so happy and surprised to see you hired as the receptionist. It was so much fun talking about the old days. I use to go to your house some days to eat lunch. Your mom made me tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.
They were so good. RIP my friend.
My condolences to Sherry’s family and friends. She will be missed

  2. CandleImageI found this on Facebook but is so fitting. The author is unknown.

If you asked me about my mama,
I’d smile and say she’s kind.

But if you really asked – if you looked me in the eyes and wanted the truth – I’d probably cry.

Because behind her gentle voice and warm hugs is a woman who has carried so much pain, yet never let it break her.

I’ve watched her silently battle storms that would have drowned anyone else. I’ve seen her cry behind closed doors, then wipe her tears and show up for us like nothing was wrong.

She gave us strength even when she had none left for herself.

She is the definition of resilience.

The reason I believe in unconditional love. And no matter where life takes me, she will always be my greatest pride – and the bravest soul I’ve ever known.

Love your Mama while they can still feel it❤️
