Sean Michael McNally was born May 7, 1986, in Los Alamos, NM and he departed from this world on March 16, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado. As he embarks on his journey into eternal life, it is with the belief that, by the grace and mercy of God, he will find the peace, acceptance, and love that eluded him in this one. He is survived by his mother, Laura (Combs) McNally and his siblings Lynn (Danny) Calkins, Leah McNally, David (Grace) McNally, and James (Irene) McNally. He is also survived by his 11 nieces and nephews Danielle, Megan, and Daniel Calkins Jr.; Elizabeth and Emily Shafer; Kali, Willy and Connor McNally; and Alannah, Ilyssa and Callan McNally. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts Kathy (Henderson) (McNally) Nicholls, Larry (Louann) Combs, Roger (Maura) Combs, Lonnie Combs, and Alan (Maryann) Combs as a well as a multitude of cousins and second cousins.

He was raised by his parents Michael and Laura McNally in Pueblo, CO and graduated from South High School of Pueblo in 2004. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael McNally, who passed away February 5, 2025, from ALS, as well as grandparents Peter and Verlene McNally, Lawrence and Betty Combs and his great-grandmother (gram) Mary Shugart, whom he adored.

Sean was extremely intelligent and talented, loved music (played an incredible guitar), had an amazing wit and loved to laugh and entertain people. Despite battling bipolar disorder and PTSD stemming from over 15 years of homelessness and living on the streets across the United States, he tirelessly sought a place to belong. His journey took him all the way down the west coast from Alaska to Mexico, to the east coast from Michigan to Florida and included many of the states in-between.  His travels revealed both the best and the very worst of humanity. Though he yearned for stardom and longed for acceptance and love, he had a hard time finding it. His bravery and compassionate heart shone through, always helping those in need, and those whom he saw were hurting. He never failed to step up when he saw something was wrong and tried to help when a tragedy or accident happened or correct and stand up for an injustice when he saw it occurring. He was a true survivor, with a zest for life that defied the hardships he faced and even the threat of death on numerous occasions.

Sean died from a probable accidental drug overdose, but it happened on his own terms and in a peaceful manner that suited him – in freedom. While the circumstances are tragic, there is some solace in knowing that he passed away without suffering or in a violent way. Those who knew him can take comfort in the fact that he is now at peace, and that his final moments were calm.

  1. CandleImageSuch a great guy taken too early. From an early age he had no care about showing how much he loved his Mom. Sean was so caring and mannerly. RIP Sean

  2. Such a handsome young man gone way too soon. My condolences to his mother, Laura, and the rest of the family who loved him. My heart breaks for all of you.
