Roderick H. Dunn, 94 passed away peacefully December 3, 2025. He is survived by daughters Barbara (Gordon) Barela, Brenda (David) Tozer; Grandchildren Caci (David) Barela, Taylor (Jerry) Denogean and Dalton (Joy) Estabrook ;Great grandchildren Seth, Lena, Logan, Owen and Oliver. Rod is preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of 65 years, Dawn Marie Dunn and their beloved sons David and Russell Dunn.
Rod was born on November 8, 1931 in Ottawa, Kansas. He grew up on the family farm with his brothers Richard, Rupert and Raymond. He served in the US Army and retired as a Colorado State Trooper. Rod drove over a million accident free miles in his lifetime. He loved road trips and looking at all things nature. He also enjoyed winning at the board game Aggravation.
At his request there will be no viewing or services. Cremation, Montgomery and Steward Crematorium.

  1. We live two doors down from your parents. Russell was my very best friend. I think about him every time I walk into a Catholic Church. I have said a prayer for him in every Catholic Church that we visited for the last 55 years this includes the Vatican, Notre Dame and thousands of other churches across Europe and Asia. I do include David also in these prayers he was also a good friend, but the loss of Russell is always with me.
    I’m truly sorry for your loss Brenda& Barbara.❤️

  6. CandleImageSo sorry to hear of my cousin Rod’s death. Sympathy to the family, Brenda and Barara and their families. Didn’t get to visit often, but have fond memories of spending time at the family farm in my early days and all the cousins getting together.
    My mother and Rods mother were sisters.
    Rest easy Rod, we’ll take it from here.

    • God bless Rod and Dawn. We were all good friends when Rod and Fred (Koury) were on the State Patrol. We would go to the fair and ride the rides and other great fun and be kids again. Such wonderful people.
