Born in: Denver, Colorado
Resided in: Pueblo, Colorado

Ramona Rae Trotter, 76, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 13, 1948, in Denver, CO to proud parents, Raymond and Norma Mohrlang.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Trotter, Jr., parents, Raymond and Norma Mohrlang, brothers, Raymond Mohrlang, Jr., and Gary Mohrlang, in-laws, George Trotter, Sr. and Lois Trotter, and sister-in-law, Connie Mohrlang.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Tina) Trotter, Saguache, CO, daughters Kristina (Anthony) Blackmore, Pueblo West, CO, and Melissa (Dan) Cummiskey, Tampa, FL, grandchildren Audrey and Emma Cummiskey, and Greg (Rachel) and Antora Sanchez, Brandon (Becky) and MaKenna Sanchez and Gwen (James) Sanchez, sisters-in-law, Marla Mohrlang, Jean Bennett, and brother-in-law, Jeff Trotter.

The Mohrlang’s moved to Pueblo, CO in 1950 and raised mom and her two brothers, Raymond, Jr. and Gary on Kennedy Street. Mom graduated from East High School and earned an associate degree in Nursing. On December 6, 1969, she married George Trotter, Jr. and together they raised their three children, Richard, Kristina and Melissa. She was a stay-at-home mom and a volunteer at Belmont Elementary School’s media center, Brownie mom, and baked cakes for Cub Scout raffles. She always made our favorite birthday cakes, birthday dinners and Christmas cookies. She was a talented seamstress, creating many Halloween costumes, dresses for East High School dances and even a drum major cape. Mom could do anything between sewing a formal wedding dress to sweating copper pipes in a crawl space. She would assist George with carpentry and remodeling, and was skilled and dangerous with a hammer and a saw. Summers in the Trotter family were spent at Aspen Acres in San Isabel, helping George build the family cabin, digging trees and cutting firewood. Christmastime was sledding, snowmobiling and cutting down the Christmas tree. She had a big heart for puppies, dogs and all creatures great and small. She was known as The Great Protector of All Living Things. She loved her kids, grandgirls and grandpuppies and would happily babysit/puppysit whenever needed. She would help us in a heartbeat, but was fiercely independent and never wanted to ask us for help in return. She would argue with you until she wore you down and won the argument. She enjoyed her solitude with her nose in a good book. Recently she loved watching the major golf championship tournaments. In the last two years during her illness and frequent medical visits, she amazed us at just how funny and witty she could be with the goal of making those around her smile. No matter how down she was feeling, she would always put on a brave face and keep her chin up.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the amazing nurses, CNA’s and caregivers who have helped our mom throughout her illness. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, especially Aude and Shelby. Thank you to the countless individuals who over the past two years gave her hugs, words of encouragement, and said many prayers. Mom was touched and forever grateful for the random acts of kindness shown by so many.

Cremation has taken place. At her wish, no service will be held.

Memorial donations in mom’s name may be made to Sangre de Cristo Community Care, 1920 Valley Dr., Pueblo, CO 81008 or https://www.sangre.org/donate-now2/

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ramona’s mom and mine were sisters. I have precious memories of the many visits the Mohrlang clan made to northern Colorado for visits with kin. I now live next to the Loveland Burial Park where Ray and Norma are interred. I walk by their graves daily and remember them and their family fondly.
May your grief not be overwhelming. May the kind words from friends and family sustain you.

  2. Oh my goodness. I’m deeply saddened to read this, we grew up across the street from the Mohrlangs on Kennedy. Mony was our babysitter for me and my brother Mark. She read us stories, and I remember being fascinated watching her practice her shorthand homework. When I grew up I babysat Mony’s children for a summer. She was so kind to us when my dad passed in 2013. I have such fond memories of her. My deepest sympathies to you all. Paula Demchuk (Santarelli)

  3. CandleImageRemembering Ramona from school…grade school through high school. She was a quiet person. We were in Brownies together. Sounds like she was an amazing wife, mother, etc to your family. RIP dear friend.
    My condolences.

  4. Our deepest sympathy to ALL of you. Your Mom was a very talented woman and a very good cook. I remember your Dad at my parents cabin in Minnesota. He would ride on the little scooter my Dad had for the Lake . You had wonderful Parents, and I can see that they passed that down. Prayers 🙏 and Hugs 🤗 to each of you. With Love, Sally and Mike❤️
