Patricia Lee (Bush) Cox, age 94, passed away on April 27, 2025. She was born in Pueblo, CO, on December 11,1930, to Charles Alfred “Al” Bush and Lillian Mae Bush. She is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara L. Bush; husband, Lloyd H. Cox, whom she married on December 31, 1949; and her sons, Gerald “Jerry” L. Cox and Patrick “Pat” L. Cox. She raised 4 children and retired as a Psychiatric Technician from the State Hospital in 1987. As a long time member of the Elks’s #90 Lodge, she enjoyed traveling to various cities for conferences and served on the board of the Elkette’s as both Treasurer and President.
Grandma Patty’s heart knew no limits when it came to her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing those around her, and her greatest joy was found in the laughter, hugs, and milestones of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed reading, tea parties, playing board games and cooking her famous Sunday dinners where everyone was welcome to join. Whether she was sharing stories from her youth or offering comforting advice she was a steady source of reassurance, kindness, generosity and above all – love. She didn’t just watch over her entire family—she helped raise them, teach them, and fill their lives with traditions and wisdom that will be passed down for generations.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Donna) Cox and daughter, Sandra (Harvey) Cox-Koshak; and extended family who will miss her deeply. Per her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you honor her memory by spending time with loved ones and cherishing each moment, just as she always did.
Dear Sandi and Mike, Pat and I We’re so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was a great lady and will be missed by many May your thoughts and memories of her be of comfort at this time. Dave and Pat Hayson.
