  1. It’s been years since I saw Mike, but I have so many beautiful memories of him and the Deverich family! He was a great musician (just like his brother Johnny and sisters Jackie and Mary Kay) and inspired me. What wonderful days those were — listening to him and “the big group” play and sing! He even loaned me his brac until the one my parents ordered arrived. It was a gorgeous instrument…I’ll never forget that. He also drove me, and Mike Lamb, to Denver to record on an Okolitza album, and he cracked us up the whole way! Seems like yesterday even though many years have passed. My condolences to Mrs. Deverich, Mary Kay, Johnny, and Jackie, and to all of Mike’s tambura combo buddies (that is a great picture of some of “The Big Group,” as we called them), all of whom taught me so much back then. Bless every one of you at what must be a heartbreaking time.
    Love,
    Mark Oreskovich
