Mayme “Mame” Wood Phillips, 86, passed away on Sept. 24, 2023, at her son’s home in Bern, Idaho following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mayme was born to Jerry and Grace Wood on Sept. 6, 1937, in Rocky Ford, Colo., and was one of 12 children, four boys and eight girls. Mayme married her high school sweetheart, Gerald “Jerry” Phillips right after she graduated and was blessed with three children, Blake, Jane, and Donald.
Mayme loved her family more than anything. She worked at various banks over the years and was very active in her Baptist church wherever they lived. Mayme loved to travel with Jerry and there were very few areas of the world that they did not visit. In her later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought great joy to her life and she loved spending time with them.
Mayme is survived by her three children Blake (Janna) Phillips, Jane Moore, and Donald (Adele) Phillips; ten grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five siblings.
