Margaret J Martin, age 84

Margaret J Martin passed to be with the Lord on November 21, 2025. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado, on August 31, 1941, to Vincent and Martha Chimento (both deceased).
Margaret grew up on the mesa and graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1959. She worked for over 20 years as an Educational Support Aide for Pueblo School District 60. First as a Kindergarten Aide at Jefferson Elementary and then as the Library Tech at Pueblo Central High School until her retirement. She earned an associate degree in library sciences from Pueblo Community College and was proud to serve as her union as President of the Pueblo Educational Support Personnel Association in the early 2000s’.
Above all, Margaret loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each of them held a special place with her. She played a profound role in helping to raise each of them, giving them the foundation, they needed to grow and thrive. She gave her heart freely, held them up to be kind, caring and responsible, and to always do what was right, not what was easy. The only person, whom she loved more than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, was her husband, Jim. They were married for 30 years. Ups and downs, through it all they had each other.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Martha; her brother, Russell Chimento; her sister, Carmella Chimento-Benevitti; brother-in-law, Leonardo Benevitti; and her beloved husband, James M. Martin. She is survived by her son, James Martin (Colleen); daughter, Martha Lockhart (Kevin); grandsons, Connor Leiva (Alanna), Brandon Martin, Cameron Martin (Keana), Sean Lockhart; granddaughter, Sophia Lockhart; and great-grandsons, Crue Martin and Matteo Leiva; and great-granddaughter, Caia Martin.
Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. Monday, December 1st, at St. Joseph’s Church, 1145 South Aspen Rd, Pueblo. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery after service. Reception at St Joseph’s Hall after interment.
Those wishing to honor Margaret may donate to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
