Lucas “Luke” Kiefer Hausman, 32, passed away on Sept. 11, 2022, from complications of Cystic Fibrosis, at his home/shop in Pueblo West, Colo. Luke was born in Colorado Springs, Colo. on July 11, 1990, graduated from South High School in Pueblo and attended Pueblo Community College. However, most of his skill with cars was self-taught. Luke was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clem and Marge Hausman, Norm Clark, Myrna Clark, and Charlene Goehl; and step-dad, Chuck Campbell. He is survived by parents, Tom and Amy Hausman and Shauna Campbell; grandfather, Art Goehl; siblings, Jolene Hausman, Chandra (Ryan) Jameson, Sam (Ashley) Hausman, Dustin (Haleigh) Holman, Kyle Holman, Parker (Aubreona) Holman, Paige Holman, and Patrick Biondolillo; eighteen nieces and nephews; partner, Carlie Hammel-Lyons; and her children, Levi and Colton. Luke was a fighter and never let his battle with Cystic Fibrosis stop him from always having a smile, living life to the fullest, and making friends everywhere he went. He loved pranks and you could count on a suspicious grin and a laugh under his breath, meaning he was up to something. Luke was a generous person who would help anyone in need, especially if it had to do with cars. Luke loved any Disney or car-related movie, particularly Minion movies! He was always around town in his onesies, especially at car show events! If you ever wanted to find Luke at a family function, you never had to look further than the driver’s seat of the nearest John Deere tractor, leading the family hayrides that have become a tradition. You never knew what Luke was planning, but if you were on the ride, you could expect Luke to direct mischief; whether he was driving through sprinklers, insisting on everyone on board to throw hay or dance, or giving the “Hausman Hello” to passing motorists. Luke’s love for cars started with his love for tractors and everything John Deere. Everywhere Luke went, he quickly made lifelong friends with anyone in the car scene; from installing sound systems, and putting Lambo doors on anything with four wheels, to rebuilding a 1964 Ford Mustang from the ground up. He was the one you called to get ear drum-breaking sound systems, strobes, and under glow lights. Luke had a passion for anything to do with cars and everyone in that world. He founded the Street Scene Car Club in 2006. If you just look around, you are sure to find a car with a Street Scene sticker on it! Everyone that visited his garage quickly became his second family. Friday, September 16th, there will be a gathering at his parent’s home in Pueblo West, 611 South Spaulding Ave., for family and close friends at 4 pm. As per Luke’s request, his family would like to invite customers, friends, and the car club, Street Scene, to celebrate Luke’s life and passion for cars on Saturday, September 17th, at his shop, 137 East Industrial Blvd. from 4 to 6 p.m. Please bring your vehicles and show off his work and your support! There will be a Celebration of Life for Luke in June at his family’s home in Beulah. The date and time are to be determined later. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com
What can I say about Luke?! A wonderful, caring, sweet friend to me and my daughters. I remember (and will never forget) the time he and I got my mustang stuck in the snow in my driveway and the time he THOUGHT his truck could beat my mustang. He soon found out he was wrong lol. I still laugh so hard I cry. He was a very good friend to my daughters, whether it be hanging out to cheer them up or doing things with their cars. Such a great guy. We all will miss him. All our condolences to the family. We love and miss you, Luke! RIP. Til we meet again.
I had the honor of being Luke’s home health nurse several years ago. I will never forget how positive he was about everything he was going through. There were times he was teaching me tricks when taking care of his PICC line. A truly amazing and caring human being. Prayers to the family as I know this is a huge loss for you all!
The world does not have enough room for me to express how much you touched the life of me and my children. I will never forget the many pizzas and beers we shared, as well as the great times we had together, joking, laughing and occasionally crying (me more than you)!! You will never be forgotten and I will miss the ding dong ditching that you always got me with. I am forever grateful for all that you did for me Lucas!! Heaven better prepare for you my friend!! Love with all my heart XOXO
To Tom and family,
My heart breaks for you and your family.
Please know that lots of love and prayers are being sent her way.
Although I never met Luke, he sounds like a beautiful soul.
From Jesus:
God’s angels hover near and all about.
His love surrounds you. And of this be sure: That I will never leave you comfortless.
Luuuuke! Grandpa Clem always got a kick out of how much we could eat so in our world that was a big compliment. But MAN you put me to shame when we ate at Outback with Grandma and Grandpa the last time we were all together. I felt like your little cousin… Not just amount, but speed! You’re the champ. Hey, I really appreciated your spirit when we spoke on the phone. I can’t stand my CF voice when I hear it but on you it’s so cool. Your pitch comes with such warmth and makes me smile. It didn’t so much matter what we talked about but I always felt better when I hung up. You always ended with “I love you!” It means a lot, Luke. I love you.
Dear Tom and family,
I am sending my deepest condolences and prayers to all of you. Please know that Lucas is with you now and always. May peace come to your hearts in the months to come.
Sincerely
Julie Drake
You will forever be loved and missed ❤
