Leland Ray Whitaker, 76, passed away on August 24, 2025.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia from Boone; sons,  Baron Whitaker and Ben Whitaker (Andrea Volk) of Pueblo; grandchildren, Chris Jaquez, Ashlie Whitaker (Tommy Provost), Dallas (Lauren) Whitaker, and Triston Whitaker (Janae Quintana); great-grandchildren, Leilah and Brayon Smithey, Jaxx Whitaker, Cadalina, Elliana, and Malia Jaquez, Addison and Emma Provost; and brothers, Ronnie, Allen, and Paul Whitaker.

Preceded in death by his parents, Holland and Martha Frances Whitaker; and his brothers, Greg, Gerald, and Keith Whitaker.

Leland was born on July 27, 1949, in Danville, Kentucky.  He was a truck driver, a mechanic for School District #70, and a Colorado Department of Corrections Officer.  He served our country as a U.S. Army Veteran.  Leland was a car enthusiast all of his life and was a streetcar builder. He enjoyed racing cars on dirt tracks in Kentucky and at the Beacon Hill Speedway in Pueblo.
