Kenneth “Ken” Dell Bozell was born on July 7, 1947, to Josephine Ann Bozell and Robert O’Dell Bozell in Okeene, Oklahoma. Ken was baptized at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Okeene, Oklahoma on July 27, 1947. After the Bozell Family moved to Rye, Colorado, he received his Sacrament of Confirmation on June 23, 1960, at Holy Family Parish in Pueblo, Colorado. Ken attended Rye Elementary, Rye Junior High and graduated from Rye High School in 1966. Ken attended college in Pueblo, Colorado and later Oklahoma Panhandle State College in Goodwell, Oklahoma where he met and married Donna Marie Webb on May 19, 1971. Ken and Donna started their married life in San Isabel, Colorado while helping his parents operate Lake Isabel Lodge for twenty years. Ken was employed by Chuck Dodge and loved the ranch life. Ken and Donna were honored and blessed to both get employment at the new Craver Middle School in the 1976-1977 school year. Ken was proud to be the first head custodian and retired in 1992, due to illness. His health throughout the years declined. His lifetime dream of owning his own cattle ranch, came true when they purchased their ranch at Apache City in 1994. Ken and Donna built their home on the ranch and lived there for 28 wonderful years.
Ken passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Ken was preceded in death by both sets of parents, his own and his in-laws, Hack and Dessie Webb, and his infant brother. Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna; special Kid, Shannon Maurello (Vic and son, Justin); brother-in-law, Joe Webb (Sharron; son, Eric; and grandkids, Cormac and Gatlin); sister, Kay Novak (Don); nieces, Brenda Novak (Doreen Jumbrek), Cindy Lammey (Kayla and Kyle, Konnor, Kennedy); Debbie Inhulsen (Mark and daughter, Donyelle Dalrick (Aaron), Darcye Swank (Robert and Paisley); and many friends and extended family members.
Ken was most proud of winning the outstanding athletic award in 1966, becoming a ski instructor at Vail Broadmoor, being in Jaycees, doing his sacraments of Baptism, confirmation and First Holy Communion, working as a ranch foreman for Chuck Dodge, and owning his own cattle ranch.
