Joy Marie Smart, age 91 passed away on December 31, 2018, in Greeley, CO. She was born to parents Charles Samuel and Verta Lois Gott in 1927 in Pueblo, CO. She attended Central High School and graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1946. She married the late Thomas H. Smart in 1947. They lived together for 60 years on the East Side of Pueblo until his death in 2007. Joy is survived by her three children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Son, Thomas Smart (Kelly) and their children Savannah and Shelby of Houston, TX; Daughter, Patricia Branan (Richard) and her daughter Heather Fox-Gardner (Justin) and great-granddaughter Katrina of Tijeras, NM; and Son, Clifford Smart (Christina) their children: Andrea Fender and her sons: Tyler, Harper, and Sawyer of Lakewood, CO, Matthew Smart (Karen) of McKinny, TX, Amy Williams (Kenneth) of Denver, CO. Joy is also survived by her brother Glen Gott of Billings, MT and her sister Mildred Deloris Moore of Pueblo.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Gott (Mildred 'Millie'), Fred Gott (Dorthy 'Dottie'), Charles 'Charlie' Gott (Hattie) and sisters, Alice Woodall (James 'Jimmie'), Alma Lowery (Andy).
She was a homemaker, avid reader, serious crafter and loved to bowl. She was a member of the Women's Int'l Bowling Congress (WIBC) and loved bowling with the Lazy Bones League for many years. She loved reading cookbooks and trying new recipes. Her favorite saying, 'That's what makes the world go 'round'.
Celebration of Life at Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall, 1317 N Main at 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, 2019. Interment will follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens.
