Jon Francis Furney was born in Pueblo, Colorado on February 11,1955. His parents were LeRoy Francis Furney and Della Jane Kristhard Furney. Jon was the third born of five children. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Michael Francis Furney. He is survived by his siblings, Tim, Bill (Jana Selph), and Mary Furney; his nephew, Michael Jay Furney and his nieces, Michele Saunders and Marlo Hatfield.
Jon had degrees in IT and Pharmacy Technology. He worked at St. Mary Corwin Hospital Pharmacy delivering patient medications to the nursing staff. He was also an IT Specialist for the Colorado Lottery. Jon also worked for the Rocky Mountain News as a courier during his last working years, he delivered highly classified items throughout Southern Colorado.
Jon was a caring brother and friend. He cared for his good friend, Lee Scot Jefferies, for many years. He never hesitated to reach out to his siblings to check on their welfare.
At his request, there will be no viewing or services. Cremation has taken place at Montgomery & Steward Crematorium.
Those who wish, may make a memorial donation to a charity of their choice in Jon’s name and to honor his generous and caring spirit.
