John Moises Martinez, 79, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; son, Eddie; grandsons, Cody, Travis and Austin; numerous nieces and nephews; and his righthand man on the ranch, Augie.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Louise Martinez; siblings, Tony Smith, Ben Martinez, Florence Martinez, Emily Martinez, Mary Jane Martinez and Patricia Martinez.
John was born in Raton, New Mexico. He loved his ranch. He was an inventor with many patents . . . aluminum pop top can, lens cutter for contact lenses and the under carriage for the Honda “Gold Wing” motor cycle. As the owner of JM Fabrication, many people would go to him for advice or solutions to their problems which he gave freely. He was known as “Santa Claus” to the children in his family.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the Montgomery & Steward Funeral Chapel, 1317 N. Main in Pueblo, Colorado. A re-pass following the service will be held at Angelo’s Pizza Parlor, 105 E. Riverwalk, Pueblo, Colorado.
