John Louis Lucero, 52, passed away on May 26th, 2024, at Parkview Medical Center. He was born on April 13th, 1972, in Raton, New Mexico to John and Pat Lucero. He was a proud resident of Pueblo, Colorado, and a Raton High School graduate.

He worked as a distinguished MRI Technologist at UCHealth Parkview Imaging Center displaying superior status in his field. John had been involved with radiology since 1995 and was fluent in X-ray, CAT Scan, and MRI. His life was dedicated to his work and conducting research among the top-of-the-line doctors. He was very outgoing and loved exploring the outdoors and going on new adventures. He had a way of talking people into doing anything and enjoyed making others laugh. 1. RIP John i don’t understand why the best of people are taken too soon. You were a wonderful person. Always enjoyed when you came to visit Enrique.

  2. CandleImageJohn – you shined God’s light on so many people. Rest now. Until we meet again, we will continue to carry your light.

Scars in Heaven by Casting Crowns
I know the road you walked was anything but easy
You picked up your share of scars along the way
Oh, but now you’re standing in the sun, you’ve fought your fight and your race is run
The pain is all a million miles away
The only scars in Heaven, they won’t belong to me and you
There’ll be no such thing as broken, and all the old will be made new
And the thought that makes me smile now, even as the tears fall down
Is that the only scars in Heaven are on the hands that hold you now

  3. My sympathies to the Lucero family. I am going to miss you my friend! You were an awesome technologist and a person, thank you for everything! Peace be with you brother.

  8. CandleImageJohn stands out as one of the most exemplary MRI technologists I have ever had the pleasure to work with. His knowledge and skill were second to none, which was a testament to his lifelong intellectual curiosity and dedication to his art. Whenever I asked him to solve a problem or implement a new technique, he’d dive in with enthusiasm and always exceed my expectations. I’ll miss our frequent discussions about the latest developments in the field, or but also his wit and good spirit. John was as compassionate as he was intelligent, a rare combination, and perfectly suited for his career. I was fortunate to have had the privilege to work him, he will be sorely missed.
