  1. Dear Esther, Owen, and family,

What a shock to find out that such a vibrant and passionate woman has left this world to go to the next.
Jan was very good at reaching out to stay in contact with friends. Several years ago she reached out to me via FB and we had since kept in contact. Owen, Ken & I so much enjoyed lunch along the water in Sarasota with your Mom and you.
Blessings to all as you grieve the loss of Jan & celebrate her life and home going.

    God bless,

    Beth Hostetler Mark

    • Beth! I remember eating a lot of oysters there with you😋. Thanks for writing. She is and will be missed.

      Blessings,
      Owen

  3. I’m so saddened at learning about Jan’s passing. We had many conversations about nursing education. She was a member of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses- Southern Colo chapter. She contributed much to the nursing community. She will be missed but fondly remembered. Vaya con Dios my frien

  4. It is hard to even find words. My life was richer for having Jan as my first cousin. I have fond memories of visiting her and Bill in Washington D.C. and at their home on the mountain in Colorado City. I was always inspired an awed by her many interests and involvements with the poor and underserved. She truly exemplified being the hands and feet of Jesus. I am overjoyed to think of her in Heaven with her beautiful saviour.

    • Amen, Ella! It brings me so much joy to know she is smiling in heaven never to die again. Love to you and our extended family.

  5. Jan called me eight weeks ago to check in on our Migrant ministry and she indicated a desire to help in any way. She mentioned coming home, getting settled, and then coming out for a visit. Her death has certainly caught me by surprise. I’m so sorry for heartache and pain Owen,John, Bill and mother are experiencing at this moment. I cherish her memory! She lived the Gospel Message of Love and Compassion. Her work for the underserved was a labor of love. My heart is with you during this challenging time!

  6. Jan was one of my favorite nursing instructors. The world wont be the same without her. My heart hurts that she is no longer with us but I’m over joyed she is celebrating above with God. My deepest and sincere condolences to her family and friends.
